Does anyone use PowerArchiver[^] I've used the "last free version" for quite a while, and it wasn't bad. Any experiences with the new one?

i don't really like it. i tried it one time, and couldn't open successfully some zip, so, i gave up. now, i far prefer WinRar, which still allow you to use zip format, but also .rar which is much better compressed format... just a matter of taste maybe

Yes, I tried it briefly on Win2k and couldn't get it to work properly (similar problem to you), so gave up.

Used to use it ... when it was slim and trim, then started to hate it (I think it was version 2002 when I started to really dislike it). Now I use 7-Zip[^], when I want an external Zip file compression tool. But Total Commander[^] has one built-in directly to the UI ... so I rarely even use 7-Zip.

A little too ingenious for my taste. :~
