I'm looking for some marketing ideas for my batch image processing product (I've not included a link in case you think this is just an ad). I've submitted it to various software libraries and started using Google AdWords. Do you have any experience/ideas on other ways to market this kind of application? I'm a micro ISV with a micro budget, any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance Andy

Also, I can't see any pricing information? Usually, if I'm going to download some software to try, I like to know how much it will cost me if I decide to buy it, so that I don't need to bother with the ones that are just "too" expensive. I can see that I need to sign up for an account, and maybe once I've done that I may see the pricing information, but to be honest, it's easier to click to the next result in google than to create an account for a piece of software that I don't know how much is going to cost without significant typing effort. (Just my opinion - perhaps I'm lazy). ChrisB

Nice, maybe you should sell the flowchart component as well!

Ok, I found it. It's on the features page rather than the "buy" page. Maybe you should put the price on the "buy" page also? ChrisB

Good point. The pricing is available on the features page at the bottom (you don't need an account for that). Maybe I should make it more easy to find.

It's C# and has taken about a year to complete (just a few evenings a week when my wife is at the gym). It's been a hobby project for me as I'd rather do some coding instead of watching TV. Feels like a better use of spare time, exercising my brain. How does it look? Professional?

Based upon the website (rather than the product itself), it looks very professional. Have you thought about approaching the digital camera magazines to try and get a copy on their cover disks or a review? Best of luck with the venture! ChrisB

Site looks nice, concept also looks nice! There's this pad mechanism where you just put a pad xml file on your web site, and loads of share ware sites support reading these pad files. You just have to visit aaalllll these share ware sites and point to your pad file. Probably you already found that out.

Hmm, I agree with Chris on you should release your flow charting component.  However it'd be nice if it were free :).  Reason being is that I'm assumng your main target will be selling PixelDragons and there are quite a few flow charting / diagramming components already out there for sale.  It'd just be nice to see a free alternative, but then again I'm always hunting for free alternatives.

Fair enough no promises but it'd be a good subject for a CP article, even if you only started out with a brief intro as to why you created it etc, then if you feel like it you can expand on it.

If you're stuck in a rut: 1) Consult the documentation* 2) Google it 3) Ask a sensible question 4) Try an ancient ritualistic knowledge summoning (:badger::badger::badger:) dance :jig: 5) Phone :bob: * - If the documentation is MSDN > 6.0 then forget it!
