Webcam suggestion

I have an interesting project that I'm working on. I need a camera (webcam) to take pictures of some watches every 2 seconds. I have a digital video camera, but the data storage required for 50 tests at 15 minutes per test is too much. I just need some still images. Does anyone have any recommendation on a webcam and software that will do this? The requirements are: * Decent resolution (VGA or better) * Software that will capture every 2 seconds * PC preferrably but Mac version OK Regards,

There is a PowerToy from Microsoft that allows to capture shots from a webcam. I don't post the link here (see my next post).

I assume you want to write a component to "OCR" the watch images so your website can display the current time? Just kidding.. :)

Ha ha... Actually I'm going to record an image of three heart rate monitors. The monitors record heart rate every 2 seconds. We are going to test a whole bunch of people for 15 minutes each. The single picture of all three monitors will be dumped into a directory. Then I'll have some administrative assistant transcribe the data from each watch and put the data into Excel. From there I can analyze the heart rate data in Matlab along with that of a portable EKG machine that will Bluetooth its data to my PC. Regards,

Willing Webcam[^] will do exactly what you want. I use it for the Timelapse Project[^] and it works perfectly. btw, the crap quality of some of the images is due to the immensely cheap camera I am using, not the software.
