Kind of 'off the wall' but, does anyone out there know if the airports in Spain, Barcelona and Madrid especially, have WiFi access? Someone told me they had to stop because of Spain's anti-terrorist laws. I find it hard to believe as the airport commercial WiFi would require ID such as credit card info, etc. Thanks, Roy -- modified at 14:47 Saturday 14th October, 2006

:wtf: How could Italian laws affect airports in Spain?

In my last travel to Mexico, in the Barcelona airport, I've seen one Michael Schumacher victory on a laptop (not mine). I don't know the requirements in order to be able to connect to the airport wireless lan, but it is possible for sure. I suppose that in Madrid will be possible too. Hope this helps.

Why don't you look on the Airports' websites? Madrid[^] - In restaurant area and VIP lounge. Barcelona[^] - 26 WiFi access points in the airport.

:wtf: And what did you do to verify this claim?

Thanks, Yeah, had those during reasearching, but in doing research I came across a blog that had an entry and a CNN link about the stopping of the WiFi in Spain. I think perhaps it might have been done for a short period of time after the London incidents. I've contacted Kubi Wireless and from the info I can gather, which seems current, it looks like WiFi is okay now in the airports. Roy

Talking about Italy the "Anti-Terrorist" simply requires you to give ONCE the details of your ID document (no credit card) for registration, and not only in the airports (even bars or Internet points), but I don't understand why should that stop you from using it ... ...do I miss the point ... ??? Ciao Marco

                        ;)
