Thanks to you, I have found a place where I feel comfortable (even though this is my first post) I've been reading your articles and posts since day 1 and I am amazed. Of all the boards and forums I have found this is the only one where I see camaraderie. I've picked up tips and tricks from everything here. Hopefully now I will have the nerve to speak up in discussions and gain a good network of devs to help me in my quest to becoming a dev. I know I'll probably get bashed on this sappy little post but hey...you needed to know that an outsider has seen hope in a little place called CodeProject um...yeah...i'm done being sappy. :-D :-O Enjoy Zach

But you should know (1) that the current "state of the art" is a serious mess, and (2) that it doesn't have to be that way. You should have quit while you were ahead. I certainly would agree with 1 and 2. But as they teach in logic class, your conclusions can still be false. :) Me, personally, I like things like declarative programming and workflows and automatic SQL transactions. I honestly don't think that natural language is capable of the detail to express some concepts. This, based on the inability to describe architecture and implementation to programmers, without a lot of extra stuff, like diagrams and storyboards, to facilitate the understanding. :) Marc

Hey - welcome !!! Yeah, CP was not my first dev site, but when I found it, I abandoned all others. I have dipped my toes in the water elsewhere, and you're right. This is the only site I've found that builds *community*. I was talking with Nish ( another regular, I work for CP now and am in Toronto right now ), and we were talking about regulars we don't see around anymore. No other site I've been on would create that sort of conversation.

True. You know what? I've forgotten my login ids to all other dev sites. If at all I go there I click on "Forgot my password" everytime. CP has become the base. [chorus on] Long live Chris .. Long Live chris [Chorus off] :-D

So lets recap. After 40 messages or so...didn't count, had quite a few welcomes, some nice comments, a heated argument, several more welcomes, a few more friendly remarks and 1 pint of virtual beer passed. Best first post I've ever had. Now it's time to grab a beer and prepare to tackle my next great task at hand. Replying to post's that aren't mine. ooooo shutter

It's a local event that happens twice a year where a lot of local venders bring there products. Got to take my 4 month old daughter to it where she seemed to have a blast with all her gooing.
