locking the record in vb.net

Sir, My application is running on intranet , around 50-60 computers are accessing that application . Now my problem is , I want to lock that particular record during updation , untill that record is updated , so the particular record not be taken for updation by multiple users simultaneously. Please help. Thanks

Not sure what exactly you are looking for but you might want to look into sql transactions. On the other hand if you are using DataSets you might want to check into "UserOptimisticConcurency". HTH
