I have a question. I have a friend and he swears he's a gangster. Anyways, he's always preaching about 'girls aint sh**", "bros before hoes", "blah blah blah". Anyways, I'm married. So this friend is dating one of my ex girlfriends. The ex called my phone last week and REALLY made my wife mad, IE: calling my wife a bit.., telling her she 'aint shi.', and requested to speak to me. ANYWAYS, I haven't talked to this girl in years, and she still has this thing for me. Well, my wife e-mailed this friend and told him she hates him. Amazingly he replies back "Keep my name out yo mouth" and a bunch of other random rappish slang "don't hate". You know, all that good stuff from malibu's most wanted. I msg my friend today and ask him what the deal is and now he's mad at me. He said it amazes him. OK, with the background, my question is, Why do guys try to act so hard? Yet, when they're in the situation, they do the direct opposite?
Oh well there have always been fools who believe that the philosophies of these media stars are all real and not contrived. Most people eventually realize that TV/Movie/Media people have artificial persona's and make more sensible choices in social interactions. Best bet put this individual in your ignore list maybe they will grow up maybe they won't. If they do and can find a way to apologize to your wife maybe then you can reestablish a relationship with them otherwise you might very well be better off without them around.
Where did my glasses go...

If one of my "friends" ever talked to my wife like that, they'd regret it.
Kicking squealing Gucci little piggy.
Well, this guy doesn't live in the same state as me anymore. It's about a 2 hour drive where he lives. I don't really want to do anything about it though. It really doesn't get to me. It just raises a question in my head, "WTF was I thinking when this guy was my friend?" I really don't want to give him/my ex the attention they want. I feel if I give them any type of attention, they'll think they won :)

I always find the people who try the hardest, have the least credibility. Colin Farrell for instance comes quiet an upper class part of Dublin, has lead a very comfortable and sheltered life but pretends he is street hardened and wise. Yet I have know a least one perfectly polite ex-member of the IRA, who looks like he wouldn't hurt a fly, yet has a very murky past indeed. Its teenage bravado, if you engage in it your a fool, if you give it credence you are a worse fool. True hard-men are like the Mafia, they will never let you know in advance.

Yea, this guy really reminds me of something in that situation. He swore he grew up in "hard times", but his parents have a REALLY nice house. Ohh, I forgot the 2004 & 2006 Yukon they have. Not just a normal one, but the upgraded chrome bells and whistle types. Not too mention a Lexus was his first car, then he wrecked it. They bought him a Passport, then a Civic, and some other car I can't think of. I always knew he was fake, he used to brag about doing things that he knows he didn't do. The only thing that makes me mad about this situation is, not he lies all the time, but the way he talked to my wife. It kind of makes me laugh at the same time though, because he swears he's something. Note the "keep my name out yo mouth". It's not like he's T.I. or she told CNN and wrote the newspaper. Well, other than that, I can't wait until Friday is over. WoW has been calling my name since Monday!

In my family we have 2 ex-Special Forces Vets with combined over 30 years experience. (1 retired, 1 in service). 1 ex-Swat member. 10+ years exp. 1 Security Consultant. 20+ yrs exp. (He's in Iraq right now. Poor, uh, fella) And I served in Gulf War I. Not one of us brags. Actually we avoid the poop about that stuff. You can often tell someone who has been in "service" by the scars and quietness. Uh, and the smell of sports creams and derivatives, and in our case limps and other uh, physical ailments. My ex's family 1 Ex Drill Sergeant CW4 at retirement. 1 Golden Globe Boxer. And 1 dude in Air America "Yes, both not like the movie, only kinda-sorta." Air America dude said, "Don't ever ask me about pigs. Ever." Only the ex-drill that had never been in combat was a pain-in-the-xxx.

These people aren't your friends. Change your phone number, your email address and return their snail mail. Don't tell these idiots your new phone number and email address. Tell all of your "real" friends not to give out your new email or phone number to anyone w/o first asking you. No need to "explain" it to them that these other "people" are idiots. You don't need these idiots in your life.

I know what you mean, I come from a family full of Garda[^], its more dangerous than it seems at first glance I can assure you. Its slightly different though from your experience, they will occasionally talk to each other, but never to anyone who isn't a Garda, an outside like me, except my dad, he doesn't talk to anyone about his work before he retired.

What does this have to do with Eminem? I really, really like Eminem. I listen to his music all the time. So does my wife who is an English teacher. We both speak and write with propper grammar. Anway your friend sucks, not Eminem.

I'm not creepy, I'm just negative, but that doesn't alter the fact that you're still an idiot. (not edited)

"...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001I still haven't seen an answer to my question. I'll repeat: Why am I an idiot? I have another one for you (I know asking you two questions is killer, because you're only going to answer one of them). The "not edited" part. Do you have to pick apart everything I do to try to look cool? I'm guessing you're an active /.'er? *sigh* internet nomads will never change. CREEPY and negative.
