Here's a few of the tools I use on a regular basis:

    • Visual Assist X[^] ($149). Undoubtedly the best productivity tool there is for Visual C++ developers.
    • SmartFTP[^] ($36.95; free for personal use). Really solid and easy to use FTP app
    • Axialis Icon Workshop[^] (£38.69 for corporate edition) - The best icon editor I've ever encountered.
    • ToDoList[^] (free). Need I say more?
    • Memory Validator[^] ($299). Far more flexible and easy to use than Boundschecker, and just as effective.
    • Sizer[^] (free). Great if you're doing screenshots and want a specific window size.
    • WinMerge[^] (free). The best free diff/merge tool I've seen. Indespensible.

Finally, we've just bought two licences for InstallAware Studio ($899). From what I've seen, it's everything InstallShield should have been, but never was.

As a follow up to this thread[^] I'll give it a try and list up all the tools/apps/add-ins/etc... we CPians find cool and handy . So for me to get an initial list, please answer to this mail with a list of links to tools that you think deserve to go on the list, with for each an inliner about what it does and how much it costs (approximatively). Thanks for the help !

That's great man. I've been looking for something like this for a while.

Arthur Dent - "That would explain it. All my life I've had this strange feeling that there's something big and sinister going on in the world." Slartibartfast - "No. That's perfectly normal paranoia. Everybody in the universe gets that." Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

Roboform[^] (US30) - integrates with browser to remember your passwords and fill in forms. I know some browsers do this... but it also remembers windows passwords, and database is shared accross browsers.
