Any IE7 Issues?

Any, especially dev-related, things that IE7 breaks? For example, someone reported a problem with chm. Just thought I'd check before it appears in Windows Update in the next few days. Will probably hold off accepting it for a while anyway.

I have had it on my dev machine since release - no issues as yet.

I've had it since the latter stages of beta (release candidates) and also recently finished a toolbar for the weather channel that supports both IE 6 and 7. Haven't encountered any development issues between the two versions, and web browsing also seems to work fine. I was using Firefox mainly for the tabbed browsing, but I now use IE7 since I don't have a lot of feature needs for browsing. I still keep Firefox around for testing, though, to make sure things work properly on a browser that has better support for standards. :)

I'm using SQL Reporting services objects in .Net 2.0, and initially had an issue with report rendering in the betas & RC1. It appears to have been fixed in the released version, but I haven't fully tested yet. Other than that everything works ok, even some IE6 specific css hacks that microsoft warned would break things.

One that was annoying for me - Roxio Easy CD/DVD creator 7.5 demands IE6 and doesn't work with IE7. Haven't found a patch yet either... :( Rich.

only encountered a cosmetic issue so far... any add-in toolbars (like google or developer toolbars for example) look completely stupid imo. you're very restricted where they can be placed which I find rather irritating

Yeah I find I miss it quite a bit, I've had to switch to FireFox debugging but none of the ones I've tried is nearly as good. Apparently you *can* debug external .js but not js in the page markup, but that's the .js I need to debug the most often unfortunately. Not sure why they didn't catch this early on, actually it was reported early on in beta, but still no fix.

I had no issues I noticed, I just didn't like it at all and rolled back to IE6.

WOW - REALLY? Well that's me screwed then! Somebody did post something in the web dev froum bout it, but got no reply when I asked for clarification - are you saying that a debugger statement doesn't work any more?

The IDE won't let you set a breakpoint anywhere in the java, just like in IE6 when you have debugging disabled. I've heard that external .js works, but that's not the bits I've had to debug or inspect. Firefox has several debuggers as addons and the internal one but I've yet to be able to get it to break in my markup script either, but maybe I'm just doing it wrong. I've resorted to popup message boxes old school style because I really don't want to downgrade to IE6 and we're targetting ie7 anyway. It's a pain and a surprisingly as yet unfixed one.

You can use the keyword: "debugger;" inside your script to break out to the debugger. Works with VS2005/IE7..

Some non-standard javascript that worked in IE6, but never in Firefox, is now 'not-working' in IE7.
