Sussposely we will be able to upload ourselves to a virtual world within 25 years. So your complete mind / soul call it what you like will be able to live on after you die in a virtual world. This poses some strange questions Will you still be able to feel your legs or that sore know you've have since high school. ? Could you get hacked ? could you hack someone else ? Could you aviod your ex-wife ? Could you feel / speak / hear in any real sense. Could you still lie effectively ? Would your little dark secrets be exposed to all ? Could you copy or backup yourself. Will only the well off in developed countries get this chance. Would you want to do this ? Would this be a virtual heaven or hell ? you get the idea !

Just be careful you don't try and upload your mind into the lounge but end up in the soapbox instead...

doubtful. First, any technology that "reads the mind" must first be experimented with, programmers having to be on the front lines, will most likely be the first subjects. That's like running before you walk, our brains are the most convoluted, random interrupted thought processes, ideas jumping up from no where, etc. We're likely to drive the computers insane. :)

Along with the other suggestions, check out Ghost in the Shell (two movies) and Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (two 26 episode series). Both deal with the effects of cyberization and what it does to the meaning of humanity. In particular, the a number of episodes in the first season of Stand Alone Complex deals with someone who'd uploaded his "ghost" (or spirit) to the global network. Flynn
