Someone was talking about books recently and that reminded me I read a book once, it was about a chap called Spot who had a ball...a big red ball. If I recall correctly he was given it at the start and he liked it. The story was fairly complex, as you can imagine, and essentially examined the fragile relationship between Spot and his ball. I'm so confused. My recollection is of some poor boy and girl trying to overcome some obstacle and the boy getting killed. The girl then chased after the insurance settlement and spiral into a decadent lifestyle.
