I can see!

In lieu of an earlier post I made, I decided to get a new monitor[^], and I'm so glad to get rid of that blurry piece of something unmentionable it's unreal. Should anyone be curious, I'm pleased so far. I just need to fix the gamma, brightness, etc. to my liking before I'm completely comfy. But, it's so clear! Now I can code again without having to be psychic. :-D

What did you get ?
A Samsung SyncMaster 225BW[^]. It's hard to say goodbye to CRT quality, but the display is so much easier on my eye muscles I'll just have to suck it up and deal with it.

I didn't intend to. Don't you have like 6 monitors though? I'm sure it evens out. :-D

Nice! I saw one of those in someone's office today (not mine, unfortunately), and the drool factor kicked in. Enjoy!

Thanks. I first looked at 19", but since LCDs are so much cheaper now and I just couldn't bare to loose real estate. I just had to. Let's just hope it lasts longer than three years this round.

OK - I recommended as Samsung, and you got the one that's 2 " bigger.

I was driving 5, but I had to go back to 4. And, one blew up.

I looked at their prices, noticed a 3 year warranty, and remember the recommendations and took the plunge.

:-O Yeah, but in the grand scheme of things, you still have more real estate.

:-D Yeah, when you have to use Fixedsys in VS and it is still hard to see, you know you're in for a ride.

Go big or go home! In three years we'll have neural implants, so I wouldn't worry about it. :-D

You think blurry is bad, my dad was working on a car (he is a mechanic) and he broke a tool... shortly thereafter he is asking me for advise on a computer to replace his laptop. He mentioned something about a hole in the screen.

Out of idle curiosity, you had indicated you where you where going to try and find out how much it was to get the old one repaired. Did you end up calling around, if so how much was it to get the old monitor looked at?
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:

Beats me, as I didn't bother. I needed to go to LCD anyway, so after being fed up w/ my old CRT it was the perfect excuse to. :)
