I just grab my cat and take his tail in hand and wipe the dust off that way. Marc

Does anyone know of a simple sure-fire way to clean LCD screens, especially on laptops. You really can't apply too much pressure!

ask the police to borrow their water cannon. That should do the trick ;P. Seriously though, a cloth which is a little moist should do the trick for you...

In other words you are petting the cat with your computer screen.... Not sure why someone voted you down, the cat probably loves it, but I bet it doesn't reduce static electricity!

A cat lover would know the cat would either purr from the extra attention, or sink a claw into you for the manhandling (cathandling?). My cats would have purred and helped brush the tail. and then smiled evily when I got a static shock

I use a dab of this[^] on a tea towel. It removes everything but your screen itself and lasts for years.

Well that was a fun waste of £3.50. I bought a cat one. The screensaver is fixed to 800x600, which is crap if you're using dual displays at 1920x1200 each. :( I know just the person who will appreciate it though, seeing as they are about as fanatical about cats as one can get without sprouting whiskers and a fluffy tail.

£3.50 is the cost of a Big Mac Meal, so I'm not too pissed off. I didn't want to eat tonight anyway. ;P

Does anyone know of a simple sure-fire way to clean LCD screens, especially on laptops. You really can't apply too much pressure!

This has got to be the single most posted question in the lounge hands down. Nothing works quite like a belt sander with 60 grit or lower I find.

I very soft, cotton cloth (or the soft Bounty paper towels) and plain water seem to work the best. Sometimes I use eye glass cleaner (the small bottles you buy at Walmart, for example) for the first pass, but it leaves light streaks that drive me crazy.

To clean spot stains (oil from fingers, or something that splashed on the screen and dried) use a Q-tip. They're gentle enough that you can press a bit to work the stuff loose. If it's a persistent stain, get the cotton tip wet, then squeeze out all the water you can, which should leave the cotton just barely damp.
