My dog shake like hell when there is lighting and storm. I actually afraid that she might get a heart attack since her small heart is working so fast.

Check out these suggestions[^] (links to a PDF). We have a dog that used to get freaked out by lightning and being calm and ignoring the thunder and lightning helped out a lot. Paying more attention to the dog and trying to calm it down just made things worse.

Ours gets all excited ;P She's even worse when she comes with us to watch fireworks because she's expecting to go and retrieve something after each firework has gone off.

Formula 1 - Short for "F1 Racing" - named after the standard "help" key in Windows, it's a sport where participants desperately search through software help files trying to find actual documentation. It's tedious and somewhat cruel, most matches ending in a draw as no participant is able to find anything helpful. - Shog9 Ed

Thanks for this link. Ours never had a problem with storms, but I browsed the dog behavior section and I found a couple PDFs that will probably help. Thanks!

Give him half a Benedryl for every 5 pounds he weighs. Takes about 20 minutes but it really calms them down.

Our dog seems to key off our emotions and body language. If we're calm, he's calm, if we're freaked out, he starts losing fur and won't leave our side.

So did mine. He lived to be a good age for a Border Collie and eventually died of annemia on the 28th September 2001. You wouldn't think that a dog dying could make anyone so upset....

Having had a dog, yes, I would :(( Our dog died on 18th January 2002 and I can still get emotional thinking about him.
