Could any of you recommend an online secure storage provider? Don't need huge amounts of space (1gig would be more than enough): just needs to be very secure and reliable. Thanks. -- modified at 5:50 Monday 27th November, 2006 Thanks very much to you all for your suggestions which I will look at over the next few days. Mark.

Just get an online web host for like $5 a month with a dummy index and a password protected directory tree.

Thanks: I've already got that but I was thinking more along the lines of some of the online storage providers that are popping up rather than just dumping files into my web space: BT has a new 2gig service but I don't want all my eggs in their basket.

I can get you a $45.00 Discount at DREAMHOST[^] if you like. Type "trueguava" in the promo code box when signing up.

Just btw I have provided a link to dream host down below, and a promo code. They have a new "Files Forever" service that will upload you files to an access controlled area for EVER. The cost was about $2.00/gb last time I checked.

Check out mozy https://mozy.com/[^] It's mostly for backups. You can encrypt your data with your own private key, so it looks safe. I haven't used it though.

Of course I did, the guy was looking for help not misdirection. To the ignorant your suggestion sounded fine (so many systems in the past have been subverted by changing file extensions.) They'd only find out once they tried it and failed. And you seriously don't have to reply to this. We have better things to argue about.

I really appreciate the interception but I knew bloat_boy was attempting humour that he knew I would laugh at. As an aside, mozy looks pretty good but I'm still casting around.

Please have a look at our Crypto Distributor[^]. It has a remote FTP client that manages a secured (entity to entity secured/authenticated) remote virtual file account system using our global digital identification/security technology. It does not require other dedicated service other than an FTP account. And, if so desired, you can use it to provide your own "service" to others (to issure virtual accounts[^] based on the real one). The passwords and user names of these virtual accounts can be changed randomly without affecting the end clients in anyway other than accepting the changes. Admittedly the current program is not a freeware but there is a one month trial period. Once the demands are there, we are going to enhance it according to the feedbacks.
