So the USB bugs on XP were going to be fixed in Vista. Selective suspend is even worse on Vista than on XP. Now even single function devices cant suspend. On XP it was only multi function devices that were screwed. Why does the same setup program (that only copies files and calls SetupCopyOEMInf() take 6minutes on Vista and 6 seconds on XP? Why cant multulayered USB device drivers reload after standy, where the same drivers on an FPGA interface can? Why are the power mappings totally screwed on USB host controlers? Why oh why cant mocrosoft produce an OS that works, rather than producing bodged crap with a few "nice" GUI features? (Too many marketing managers and not enough responsible engineers probably)

Because then they'd be out of a job.
Formula 1 - Short for "F1 Racing" - named after the standard "help" key in Windows, it's a sport where participants desperately search through software help files trying to find actual documentation. It's tedious and somewhat cruel, most matches ending in a draw as no participant is able to find anything helpful. - Shog9 Ed

Yep - I am just removing another (failed) attempt at installing SQL Server 2005. I click on a SS2005 component, choose uninstall and the protection dialog comes up 'an unknown application is trying to run'. So, Vista can't tell that the app is the SS2005 uninstaller. Brilliant On another front, my sound card is working, and my control panel no longer crashes. That just worked after a reboot.

No, I'm just judging by the comments of people who do: cute but unfinished.

Don't sit on the fence. Tell us what you really think:laugh:
Arthur Dent - "That would explain it. All my life I've had this strange feeling that there's something big and sinister going on in the world." Slartibartfast - "No. That's perfectly normal paranoia. Everybody in the universe gets that." Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

very bad experience here too. another thing not mentioned here yet regarding the sync tool (ultimate) : I set up a sync folder to a network sahre folder and I was unable to cancel the operation, the system was contnuing sync all the folders ignring all my canceling operation. I've gone mad. not to mention all the other things we all know : SLQ server, VS2005.. it's useless IMO at the moment
