Hi guys, my niece has to write a presentation about the conservatives in the U.K. She got many information about their history and now she is looking for the manifesto for the 2007 election. Does somebody from the U.K. may now where to get them? I couldn't find it on their website. Thanks! Stephan -- modified at 14:02 Tuesday 5th December, 2006

As far as I know they don't actually have one. No this is not a sarcastic response.

We'll know when Labour have written theirs and the Conservatives rip it off.

AFAIK they haven't given a manifesto for the next election yet - they are probably waiting to see if they even need one or if New Labour will simply destroy itself - but you can find information on the directions they will be heading on Wikipedia or on their own web site. They also have a site caled Conservative Future[^] that is aimed more at providing commentary-like information to get the younger generations to vote for them. I think their main policies when we head into the election will be on the environment, and on community values like local healthcare and policing. Ultimately, anything they think will get them votes. You may want to point your neice to their Built to Last - The Aims and Values of the Conservative Party[^] document, which outlines some of the party opinions which will no doubt make it into election policies. The full PDF is linked at the bottom of that page.

How times change. 1997 seems so far off. Turnabout is fair play :-D

It's not been written yet, but from all the Cameron hype I expect it to be at least in part (Stan's gonna love this) "to the left" of current Labour Party policy.
