Not really, as this is not a hardware advancement, but I can see how you could draw that conclusion:wtf: ;P

Brad Australian I assume Microsoft would not use doors, because using Windows is faster.

I'm guessing this is sarcasm? ;P On a side note, it'll be a cold day in hades before I make IE my main browser again.

I am sorry to post two consecutive posts like this, but I just found another great feature of Firefox. When you highlight a word and right click you have the option to Google it. I think this is really useful and a mild time saver. Just in case you wanted to know.

Update: Ok now I feel stupid. I would like to take a moment to point out that I am very tired and therefore found this little shortcut an incredible advancement. Seen as I am in this mood I'm going to review all my code.

On newer mice, the scroll wheel acts as the third button now.

I've only recently discovered the middle mouse button! But having discovered it, I'm starting to use it frequently. More convenient than right clicking (or keyboarding) to open in the background.

I have 10 (8 programable) logitec MX610 Left, right, middle (tilting scroll wheel). forward, back. Volume up, down, mute. email, IM: Only configurable to what app they hook to, they light up when you get a new mail/message, and pushing starts the program, but you can't assign them to anything else using the current software. They're too close to the base to be much use anyway. They're on either side of the crease between my index finger and palm. No easy way to click them and the lighup feature is made useless since they're covered by my hand in normal use and when I'm not at the PC, I'm not looking at my mouse.

-- Rules of thumb should not be taken for the whole hand.

Yeah, it's kinda like the scroll wheel that way... once you get used to it, it's tough to go back. :-D

Yeah, I've been in a contract for the past 10 months. In the first few months I had a mouse without a wheel. What a pain!

Brad Australian I assume Microsoft would not use doors, because using Windows is faster.
