Yeah, I just think it's sad that we're supposed to be smart/enlightened programmers and all, and we're no more bright than a bunch of monkeys. When people say we can't we all get along here it really means see things my way. :sigh:

Josh talks about condoms in the lounge and the idiots give him a 4.4, but for all things good with the world don't let anyone mention the word "Jesus" in the lounge. The sick bastards that do should be killed!! I mean, what if kids hear the word "Jesus"? I shudder to think. Really, it's sad to think that loser/dorks here that can't get laid and are obsessed with sex is the majority. God, did I ever pick the wrong profession to hang out with people with.

Voting does not follow any kind of ratonale in my opinion. If a post has one 5 vote it is more likely that it will have another 5 and so on. At least that is what I have seen.

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it. -Brian Kernighan

It's amazing how some people consider sex to be taboo and "dirty." Why would someone be concerned about their kid sister reading about condoms. Is it now bad to know about safe sex? Anyone who was actually upset by my post needs to get a hobby.

I like pecans, but don't consider them essential. Dried cranberries are also good. But the dough is the big thing for me - if possible, i make it up a few days ahead of time, so that it can spend some time in the fridge, gaining flavor. I love a good, cream cheese and vanilla frosting. But no frosting is better than mediocre frosting. Your comment on cinnamon makes me think... i use a lot of cheap, pre-ground cinnamon; it might pay off for me to hunt down some better stuff.

I'll have to give the cranberries a try. The mcormmick saigon cinnamon is pretty good for store bought stuff. It's more expensive, but it has more flavor.

It's not just one event. And on top of that, there are a lot of people that do take a huge offense to that and would consider it bad.

I'm not so insecure I need dorks to be envious of my life so I'm compelled to say what I've done. But anyway, that's not the reason I'm against retards like Josh. Kids don't need to see this stuff for one. For two, hypocrisy and disrespect are bad things, not good things.

:sigh: Let's get real, that ain't the reason. I can't speak for everyone, but as for me I don't brag because I have no reason to. I'm not so insecure I need dorks to be envious of my life so I'm compelled to say what I've done. But anyway, that's not the reason I'm against retards like Josh. Kids don't need to see this stuff for one. For two, hypocrisy and disrespect are bad things, not good things.

Look, just because you and Josh have a difference of opinion regarding what you feel is appropriate in the lounge isn't a reason to call him a retard. Marc

Good, next time someone posts a programming question, religion, politics, etc. in the lounge then you don't have a right to be less than cordial to them. And don't give me that crap, you have no problem being downright rude to people here that didn't deserve. I've seen it.

There are a lot of people who would take offense at pretty much anything. Discussing fat people, how much a particular sports team stinks this year, baldness, emotional disorders, eating disorders, the poor, the rich, etc. is bound to piss someone off. Everyone has issues with different things. I've never met someone who thinks that mentioning condoms is offensive, but, sure, there must be some people out there who are offended by that. You happen to be one of those people. I'm sure there are people out there who would be offended by the fact that you referred to me as a "retard" (no, that didn't offend me). My point is, political correctness is subjective. Not only that, many people assume (incorrectly) that it is their right to never be offended by anyone, anywhere, anytime. That's just not true. The only people who can decide if the condom joke was inappropriate for the Lounge are the folks at CP. It's their site, so their version of PC-ness is all that really matters here. If it was inappropriate, I'm sure they would have moved it by now. Now, let's enjoy this weekend before it's Monday again! :)
