Hi. I want to ask you if this has also happened to you when you wrote a post. Yesterday I wrote some post here on CP that contained a link. In the middle of editing the link, IE blocked a popup. And after this, every time I pressed a button on the keyboard to enter text in the textbox of my post, my speakers gave a clicking sound. Did this happen to anyone of you also ? I couldn't reproduce the behaviour. Is this some kind of Bob-feature ? :suss: Marius

It's certainly not us. Have you checked for spyware?

      cheers, Chris Maunder

I have run Spybot S&D and the Zone Alarm spyware detection. None of them reported anything unusual. Marius

The clicking sound may be an ad refreshing, but it certainly shouldn't trigger a popup. Do you have the latest Flash plugin on your computer? I ask because it may have been the information bar asking you to update flash, rather than a popup.

I will check the flash plugin, but I don't think that it is this, because some days ago the information bar told me that a site that i visited needs a newer version of the flash plugin, so I installed it. No, as usual with popups a info box appeared that told me that a popup has been blocked. And the message bar gave me the usual option in this case. Also, the message appeared several minutes after I started writing my message. Funny thing is, it didn't click randomly but exactly every time i pressed a key... Think, it's rather unusual for spyware to click when its monitoring keystrokes. After closing IE and starting again, no clicks anymore. (btw I'm using IE7). Also ZA didn't complain about anything, as it does when I e.g. start the Security Task Manager. Anyway, it gives me a somewhat funny feeling in the stomach when something like this happens, because several months ago my rig was turned into a port scanning zombie (story about the careless cable guy installing my internet connection). My traffic monitor based on a raw socket, which is allways running since then, also does not show any suspicious/unusual traffic. Thanks for your suggestion ! Marius

Bob is speaking in tongues. He has been hanging around with some of the "born-again" folks at Codeproject Soapbox!
