VS2003 vs. SharpDevelop
-
Hello, I just got SharpDevelop for .Net1.1. Is it possible to open or convert my VS .sln file? Thanks for ideas! Martin

The obvious solution would be to try it yourself, and not post here until your figure out an answer.
Wow, it seems that you really are the boss here. So I first have to say that its a big moment for me to read your productive answer of my post! At second, I have to excuse myselfe to all the poor people who have to read my question, as it has to be really a punishment. bla, bla, bla No, It was just simple yes/no question, and maybe the possibility for some expert to tell me if it's a bad or good tool to use. And off course I tried it myselfe, but it's not that prior in my work so far that I could waste my time with. I also don't expect that somone installs the tool just for me to try it out. No again, It's just a question too someone who has expirience with this 2 tools. Anyway, merry christmas! All the best, Martin

Also, let me apologize for the negative tone. I must be jaded. :-O It comes from answering many questions from people that do not do their homework, and post questions labeled "Urgent". When you open the message, it contains "I need source code for ..." The latest version of #Develop is very solid, but needs .NET 2.0 to be installed. On the upside, you can easily set it to compile in .NET 1.1. There is one caviet that I found. Sometimes solution conversion creates an invalid build script. The workaround is to create a blank solution, and add the individual projects to the solution. Merry Christmas!!
