Phucking 5 for that. Truer words have never been typed, except maybe by me when having this arguement many a time in the Soapbox.

almost everywhere(everyone knows the exception).

you remember the number of wickets Kumble got on his last Australian tour? If Warne is the greatest spinner ever, then Kumble is the most under rated player ever. Kumble Wickets per match = 538/111=4.85 Warne Wickets per match = 699/143=4.88 Also Warne has more than half of his wickets(419)against England(186), South Africa(130) and NZ(103), who have been poor players of spin. I will miss McGrath more then Warne.

I put that in a footnote in the original post myself, but deleted it.
Cheers, Vikram.

i think you missed murali Murali Wickets per match = 674/110=6.12

oh, everyone knows that already. I wanted to highlight that Kumble is in the same league, and to even say that Warne is The greatest legspinner, would not be fair. one of the greatest spinners seems fair enough for all Warne, Murli and Kumble.

I'm an Aussie sports fan and I would not describe myself or expect you to describe me as an arrogant one. Stop stereotyping. This is not the sort of behaviour I expect from Pakistani sport fans.

Wow, this is a bizarre flame war. I can't believe you got 2 votes of 1 each for this. :sigh:
Cheers, Vikram.

He is definitely the best bowler ever, IMO. I would rate him far higher than Murali because Murali has taken most of his wickets on spin-friendly subcontinent pitches, while Warne has had a lot of success pretty much everywhere, including Australian wickets where spinners would normally be crucified. I'll miss Warne. :( [edit]I seem to have sparked off the most bizarre flame war in CP history. [/edit] -- modified at 3:10 Thursday 21st December, 2006

I'd say he's the best spinner ever. I'd still rate Wasim Akram as the best bowler ever.

Akram the greatest fast bowler ever and master of reveres swinging. I like him more than Murali.. But you know that this great man, Akram himself, claim that Murali is better than him..
