Defacing a website is a Federal crime. Since that defacement involed racial epithets and vulgar language, it deserves reporting.

I dont really care if it is reported (although it seems rediculous), but what pisses me off about it is that i got automatically blamed for it. And, dont you think that the reporting should be left to the website owner, not some idiot that wants to be Chris's knight in shining armour?

You were blamed, perhaps unfairly, because you had previously engaged in similar exploits, and used similar language in your posts. If you don't want to be blamed when some idiot hiding behind a pseudonym shows off his script-kiddie skills, than don't do the same.

The way an IC3 complaint works, it will be left up to Chris - the FBI will contact him for confirmation and further details; if he chooses to respond, then the FBI will follow up. If Chris chooses not to reply, it will end there. Bradml had every right to file the complaint, since the end result will likely be that the site will disallow HTML in posts. This will be an inconvenience for all users, possibly making it impossible to post formatted code in requests for help or in responses to those requests. Every one of us is injured by this, and all of us are justifiably angry.

I dont think you know the definition of script kiddie. Using an HTML exploit like he did and i have done in the past is not being a script kiddie. A script kiddie is one who uses pre-made tools to hack a website. Similar language? Are you people seriously ignorant enough not to know that there are hundreds of teenagers on the internet who troll and do things like that? Just because i am the first one you have had experience with doesnt make them all me. Saying everyone who trolls or uses html exploits is me is like saying everyone who posts self-righteous and idiotic posts is Josh Gray. Also, I dont really think that the FBI will be very interested in tracking down some kid on the internet who "defaced" your precious website, but have fun thinking you did something big and powerful.

It should be a crime to waste the FBI's time on trivial and innocuous acts when they have much more important things to do.

I missed whatever started this mess ... but I'm curious why the FBI would even be considered to be involved in something like this. Last time I checked, CP was run on servers in Canada ... has that changed?

Yeah. How's the skiing in Switzerland?

Terrible. There's no bloody snow! Currently daytime highs are near +12C. Only the really high-altitude resorts have any snow worth mentioning. For example, Klosters has some nice snow. But Klosters is affordable by the likes of the British royal family... Down with the elite! Viva la revolucion! Oh wait...

Lame. The Rockies just got their second blizzard. I think that's the second time in a week that the Aspen/Vail area was blanketed with 30" of powdery snow. Unfortunately, I'm the only one I know willing to fly 1500 miles and drive another 4 hours to go. I need cooler friends and a cooler wife.

I missed whatever started this mess ... but I'm curious why the FBI would even be considered to be involved in something like this. Last time I checked, CP was run on servers in Canada ... has that changed?

This event is going to spark an FBI-Mounty alliance. All of mankind is doomed.

I like skiing for the skiing and the apres-ski. Unfortunately I am head-deep in an important project and have little free time. What a bad time of year to be so embroiled... Perhaps in the New Year (when and if the colder weather comes) I can escape for some Alpine skiing... Fortunately Switzerland is sufficiently small that I can be on a ski slope in under two hours from my present location.

For somebody who "didn't do it", you sure are eager to defend the quality of "his" work.
