    >>Maybe you could have a male/female option on the voice settings? I think I may very well have to do that allow users to select their own Bob's voice. That way I can make Bob multilingual hindi, english, spanish etc.

I speak english and spanish fluently along with some french and dutch. However, you'll have to find someone else for the hindi :)+ Cheers, Tom Archer Author - Inside C#, Visual C++.NET Bible A total abstainer is one who abstains from everything but abstention, and especially from inactivity in the af

So as I continue to work on my screen saver I get new ideas and find new requirements. The latest requirement is voice of Bob. I want to add certain voices like "Please wait downloading from web", "Code project who's who", "You are watching the CodeProject Top 10 posters" etc. Any volunteers, who think that they can be Bob?

Maybe he sounds like the adults in Charlie Brown television shows. (Afterall, with no mouth, how understandable could he be?)

With Bob being an alien, our concepts of the connection between gender, name and voice might not even apply. Bob is certainly not his name anyway. That's just the name that we earthlings gave him because we don't speak his tongue. For all we know, the entire concept of gender might be different on his planet. Are you listening Rama? Basically, I'm just saying that if my computer is going to talk to me, I'd much rather it be the silky voice of a female as opposed to the harsh, bass voice of a male. Maybe you could have a male/female option on the voice settings? Another possibility is to make a voice which doesn't sound like an adult at all. Children's voices tend to be less gender-specific. For example, Bart Simpson's voice is actually done by a woman.

I thought bob was telepathic? Am I the only one that hears him speaking when I visit CP? Todd Smith

I vote for Bob to have a female voice !!!! Christian The tragedy of cyberspace - that so much can travel so far, and yet mean so little. And you don't spend much time with the opposite sex working day and night, unless the pizza delivery person happens to be young, cute, single and female. All three, I reckon. Depending on personal preference. Christian The tragedy of cyberspace - that so much can travel so far, and yet mean so little.
