Battle of the PDAs

I was just wondering which PDA everyone is using and why. The Palm Pilots seem to be very popular but it's hard to ignore the Ipac. Any suggestions?
Depends on what you want/need. I use a Palm V myself. My Palm V gives me most of the flexibility and features that I need... want, no. The Palm V and some of the rips that came from it... Visor, etc all use the Palm OS. Honestly, I think Palm did an excellent job and my Palm works really great covering all the bases very nicely. The add-on applications available are excellent and the Palm V at least is pretty stylish. However, Windows CE has stepped up. Some of the newer devices like the HP Jornada, Compaq's iPAQ, and Casio's Cassiopeia with the latest PocketPC version of Windows CE really rocks. Finally we get USB which dramatically speeds up sync time. Also you get color (which you COULD get with the latest Palm III versions if you like the Palm III). You get a version of IE, Word, Excel, Money, Outlook... you even get Media Player for WAV/MP3 playing. You could combine that with some addons like IBM's MicroDrive or something similar to get your own portable MP3. You also get a voice recorder and a really slick interface. SO, with Palm there's a good deal of software and reliability. It's typically a good deal less expensive. It will likely cover all your needs. With the CE PDA's you're back to dealing with Windows and yes, crashes. But, you get a lot of really cool glitzy features and, well, Micorosoft (depending on your personal view of Microsoft). I was unimpressed with all PDAs until I saw Blackberry. I hated Palm's stylus/grafitti thing, and Blackberry has a much better API (it is part C++, part C). You can program it using Visual C++, whereas Palm requires CodeWarrior. That is a nice advantage. Plus it has paging and email (with a moderate monthly fee of course). Even so, I will probably use a pen and paper for a few more years.

I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I just went out and bought a Palm m100. It's (by far) the cheapest at $150. So far, I like it. BestBuy actually has a 14 day return policy. I may return it and upgrade to a Palm IIIc before that 14 days is up ;-) The color screen seems much easier to read. Either way, the m100 is black and white and has 2mb of ram which, as I understand it, allows for about 10 programs which can be downloaded from the pda sections of sites like tucows.com or download.com. All these PDA's are too bulky for me. I need something that I can actually carry on me, put in my pocket, forget about it until I need it. I do not need all that fancy Win CE stuff, just need to keep track of phone numbers, meetings, notes, agenda. There is one PDA that I really like: the REX. There is a new one- the REX6000.
