It still freaks people out when I plug a crossover cable into two PCs and transfer data. On the plus side, all I did was cut an end off and attach a new plug. Cost me about $2.49 and is fast enough for my needs. Pretty cool though.

I remember the LapLink days when I had to transfer data via a crossed over serial cable (parallel cable was a bonus!) or :gasp: a 360K floppy. You kids have it easy these days.:laugh::laugh:

You and your fancy "serial cable"! In my day we had to pick up the data with our own hands and walk 15 miles in the snow and rain to put into the new hard drive! And if we lost any we were whipped until the leather broke! Then we had to turn the disk ourselves for days on end without food or water!

I actually have their newest version in a bag, that I carry around with me. My kit includes Laplink Gold, a serial, parallel, serial to parallel, and usb cable.
