Easiest way to make games
-
Hello everybody I want to start making simple 2d games, and I'm wondering what is the easiest way to start, should I use direct draw or are there easier labraries? thanx
KOM UIT DAAAAA!!!
Click and Play, it was published in 1994 and works fairly well. Beyond that Open GL is so much easier to use than DirectX but you don't get the added benefit of DirectInput. I used to be a fan of the C4 engine because of the low cost but after playing the demo a few times I am no longer a fan of the graphical abilities.

actually, using direct Input with OpenGL is quite common and relatively easy compared to learning all of DirectX. :) I use DirectInput for joystick input, as do many OpenGL programmers who need access to joystick operations for windows only work.

Great! Do you know what he did? Maybe he accidentally unblocked everything. Anyway I think it would have been a much wiser choice to send this message through an encrypted connection to one of my sites using a previously decided apon private key. Why you may ask, Well because your system admin seems to read CP.

I dont need to be afraid I guess. I think only because of this, he's give me the rights to browse anything. I mean he's afraid of the *drug* matter we discussed that day! :-D [Hello Admin, Good work keep it up!];P
Code-Frog:So if this is Pumpkinhead. Time for him to run and hide. It's an interesting thought really.

You should check out the PopCap engine... It's ideal for 2d games, and you can download the source for free if I remember correctly (although there's some arrangement limiting the publishing / distribution of games made using this engine through PopCap themselves). Incidentally, DirectDraw has been deprecated for the last few DirectX releases. You'll need to use Direct3D now (which in the case of 2D games, could be a little like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut) :) Hope this helps, Joel.

Didn't you feel I'm flattering you too much ? :-D . but I meant it really. I usually add roll-eyes just to ease the "seriousness" in the message. Please Don't mind it :)
