I'll be 30 tomorrow. I'm going to a german pub with some friends and family (including my twin brother, who is also turning 30). We're going to down lots of imported german beer.

..it's Friday. Where's the "What are you doing for the weekend" post? I'm playing football tomorrow then visiting my new (1 week) nephew. Not sure what I'll do Sunday though.

I'm going to be 40 foot up a ladder installing a new TV aerial. It might never happen though, as having assembled it this evening it turns out to be about 12 feet long and wider than my front door. If I do get it installed though, I will spend the remainder of my weekend playing with my new media centre pc.

Cool! I have a couple of slope soarers that I got many years back when I ironically lived in a place with few slopes. I should really take the time to haul them out and refurbish them.

I had wondered about the Friday post also. We're expected to get a cold snap (highs around 10 degrees F which is actually higher than normal for this time of year but it's been so warm)so I'm not sure if I'm going to do much. My husband has to work part of Saturday. We'll probably do our normal weekend shopping: comic book store, used CD/DVD store, Target and Wally World. Might do some cross-stitching. Definately need to do some cleaning because I didn't do any while I was sick.

Yeah, is cool stuff, I went to the store to pick it up and it was not in stock, now I'll have to wait until Wednesday :(. So I guess this weekend I won't do much after all.

That bit will be fine. It's nearer to 30' than 40' because of the ground beneath it (I can balance it on two flowerpots and the edge of a birdbath), plus I've been up there loads of times and know the best places to hold on. I always have someone to hold the ladder and I attach it to the roof with hooks when I get to the top. It's a massive four part ladder - it flexes a bit but it never falls over, and I've given it my fair share of tries. When you get into the second half of your nine lives you tend to adopt more cautious passtimes, so I don't take risks witohout planning them through. I'm actually more worried about losing my footing while trying to balance this 12 foot monster of a television aerial in one hand, and clamp it to a pole with the other. If I still can't get a digital signal after installing that then I am going to be mightily pissed off.
