I just seen that episode on TV today. I was hoping he would ask Bill about politics or something. Bill ran away near the end of the show too.

Yeah that's not unusual. Guests who have done a lot of talk shows always hang around until they go to commercial, guests that are not used to it tend to flee when the interview is over. Bill's a pretty good speaker though for being a "geek". Although true geeks when interviewed seem to always start a sentence with "so.." for some weird reason. All the NASA people do it and generally most of the silicon valley people when interviewed and quite a few scientists when being interviewed. I wonder who started it.

Ah, yes... Bill's always fun to watch, as he makes me feel a bit less depressed about my own public speaking skills. :) But yeah, didn't really change my opinion on Vista.

I realize that in the business world he's highly competitive and plays hard, but every time I see him he always comes across as a sincere and genuine human being. Just a regular geek like the rest of us who did well in his career and still has enthusiasm for it. I'd have a beer with the guy any day.

Heh, his vision for where computers should be had me a bit concerned. He started talking about being able to talk to your machine, have it recognize your handwriting, etc.... next he'll be saying we need to code in Plain English. Damn, I had to say it, didn't I. Oh well.

I haven't seen the interview, but those seem like obvious things that we would want computers to be able to do, in fact, they can already do them now.

Just seen it on tv, didn't give me a reason to like Vista any more than before. Elaine :rose:

Agreed, there is a lot more to him than Microsoft.

I forced myself to stop saying that, and “well”. It's a mental pause to get just a fraction of a second to gather ones words into something coherent the rest of the world can understand. Now I just take the second without saying anything. :) I wonder if anyone notices? :-O
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:

I found that his statements were quite witty, as far a nerd's witt can possibly extend that is. What would have been priceless is an anti-Microsoft campaigner to have turned up to the show. Bill has a vulture like personality, if someone had pushed him far enough he might have snapped at them and shown the whole of world his true self. Of course the odds of him being pushed that far is very unlikely, especially after the flack he copped after being on a stage during a presentation that ended abruptly in a BSOD. I think he is used to hecklers now.

Reminded me of the voice recognition demonstration. That was the funniest think to watch (Aunt, Delete, Delete "Aunt" and then it prints the whole string )
