You know, this whole firewall Internet security nazi'ism is rapidly becoming NOT a laughing matter, IMO. If there ever was a time when the idea was to protect the data, computers, and network, it seems we've moved far far beyond that, to micromanaging the employee's work habits "because we can". All under the guise of security, of course. If there's something fundamentally wrong with what are employees are doing (and I question that) then the root issues should be addressed rather than applying bandaids that we laugh at, when we should be doing anything but laughing at how we are so completely controlled. I do! I have a 6 gig ipod mini that never leaves my desk at work. Sometimes I spend more time clicking through songs than coding! ;P I mainly listen to a recent rock bands (Breaking Benjamin, Cold, 32 Leaves, Trapt), but I also listen to some Christian rock (Kutless, 12 Stones etc)...they have similar sounds to the bands I mentioned above.

I listen to music most of the day. I started working from home a few months ago and was starting to get sick of regular radio so I decided to sign up for Sirius and now have that playing pretty much all day at home. Brett

I agree. It is pretty bad when you can't go to Mens Health because of "Provocative Attire". I probably surf the net more than I should...but then again, I get more work done in half a day than most of the people around me can in 2 days. Since we are on salary it is evident that we are getting paid to do a job...not for the number of hours we work. Therefore they shouldn't require 40 hrs to be worked onsite or be filtering our internet!

Red is very good! Do they only have the one album (End of silence)? I don't think it's that old but I can't wait till their next release!

If you like Christian pop, there's a local (upstate SC) station that plays some pretty good music and streams their broadcast here[^]. Not usually my genre, but the few times I've dialed in I thought they played good stuff.

                                      Cheers, Vikram.

Why, what music do you enjoy? :)

wow, an easier question would be what I don't like... ;). I like music ranging from Jazz, blues, Rock'n Roll, Soul, Rock, Hard Rock, (most kinds of) metal and sometimes stuff like the prodigy and praga Khan, even an occasional hip hop (Cypress Hill and the likes). I also like 60/70 music (stuff like in the TV show Tour of Duty)... just for starters ;-) What I don't like: modern pop/disco music, brit pop, that kind of stuff. And I don't like to listen to the radio (to much talk) Even my wife complains that I listen too much music

Studying, eh :) Kind of has been draining all the free time I used to have, these days a normal day is filled with lectures and tutorials from 9:00 to 17:00 - not that I'm complaining, working people have even longer hours :) Aside from that I kind of got out of the habit of Lounging I guess ;P, but even so, I think time is the main factor.
