So I've been running Vista since it was released in November and the single most upsetting thing in the whole OS are the ListBoxes. I've changed my colour-scheme (through control-panel) so that the 'selected item' colours are different. So instead of the default white-on-blue I've changed to dark-blue-on-light blue. (i.e. inverted the selection highlight colours). Everything looks good apart from ListBoxes, which for some reason still use the default blue as the selection-highlight background. The weird thing is, the ListBoxes *do* use my preference for the selection foreground (text) colour. Here's a sample screen-shot: http://www.catch22.net/img/vistalist.jpg[^] anyone else noticed this?

I don't have an answer, but the thing that bugs the &&$%*!@ out of me is how some list boxes will generate a system beep when you change the selection! The VC6 MSDN viewer does this, and I can't figure out why. Bloody annoying I tell ya.

        I don't think I've ever noticed the 'beep' before - I use MSDN Oct 2001 for VC6?

Run it, go to the Index tab, double-click "~ operator" That brings up the Topics Found dialog. Every time I change the selection in that list control, I get a beep. It happens in other apps too, MSDN is just the place I get it most often.

This bugs me too. It seems that with the Aero theme you can't customize anything other than the glass title bar hue. I tried to change the window non-client area color to gray, no dice. Very annoying. I'm looking for a solution too in case anyone knows how.
