Hello all. As the geek I am, I love Star Wars. Of course. By definition I guess. In 2004, I bought this really good game for my XBox, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. If you are either a Star Wars fan or a RPG fan, you must have played this game already. A year or two later, it was released the sequel, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. I intended to bought it; however, I read many articles saying that the game was a bad one. So I just decided not to buy it. In the past weeks, I re-played KOTOR, and now I want to buy KOTOR II. So my question is: any of you would recommend KOTOR II? I just need one excuse to run to the next game store and buy it ;D Thanks in advance.

You can get it new under $20 now, but to me, it's not about the money, it's about time. The game is not made by Bioware, it's made by thrid-party developer, so I don't waste my time to play it.

Was KOTOR II created by the same developer? I think I read somewhere that the developers of KOTOR are working on a new game not based on the SW universe. googling..... Ya, KOTOR was made by BioWare (awesome) and KOTOR II was made by Obsidian Entertainment (who?). Ah! BioWare is working on Mass Effect. The preview videos for that are simply amazing. I would save your money and wait for Mass Effect :D And watch the preview videos in the mean time. 0.02

well Obsidian Entertainment was founded by ex-Bioware employees... As far as I know the lead designer in KOTOR II was Chris Avellone (Baldurs Gate I/II, Planescape: Torment, Fallout, Neverwinternights 2) etc. so the story should be awesome...

I thought it was a good game, although not as good as the first game. Go buy it now, as it won't cost half as much as it did when it was new. :)

Yep. though to be fair, KOTOR 1 set an example difficult for sequels to live up to.

Buy it! The game is not as good as the first one (they messed up the final - looks a bit like: "hey we run out of money so take this ending") but the story is good and the game is fun just like the first one.

I had fun playing the second game, but it seemed far too short and the ending didn't make much sense to me. There were a fair few bugs in the version I played, but perhaps they've been patched now. I'm hoping for another sequel as the universe is such a fun place to play in.

Yeah, it was ok, but not as good as the original. I'd get it.

Well, I just bought it. It was hard though, since the videogames stores weren't selling it anymore -only XB 360-. Yet in my last attempt, I found a store that had an old unselled copy. Yei. Today I'll begin to play it in the afternoon. And if it's good... well, i'll have to make an excuse for not comming to work tomorrow ;P Thanks for your comments.

But while it couldn't beat the original, it still turned out to be a kickass game. I have a debug build of it infact lying around here somewhere. The only complaint I had of it was the ending. I thought it was lacking compared to the original. But then again, the twists in the original are hard to beat :) If you liked the first one, then you most definitely will like the 2nd. Hardly anything changed about the game play, so no learning curve thankfully :D
