I'm guessing you missed the bold, bright red text at the top of the lounge posting page that reads: Do not post programming questions (use the programming forums for that) and please don't post ads.

No problems, man. You will be welcomed, especially when you respect the posting rules. For some that's difficult, but in your case I can already see that changing. Good luck and welcome to CP. I'll have a look at your SQL question and see if I can help you out. :)

Don't worry about it. You know the correct forum now. Some people just like the sanctuary of the lounge in an otherwise stressful life - they don't like being reminded what made them stressed. :-D

If you take a look at the bottom right hand of posts, there are new Spam and Abuse links. My understanding is that when a post accumulates enough of either, the message is removed. If democracy doesn't seem suitable, you might consider it a form of peer review. Either way, from reading your subsequent responses you seem to have a good attitude about the entire thing and are learning from the experience, so I have no doubt that people will continue to help you in the programming forums as much as they can. :)

Posting a PQ in the lounge was a fault of course. But that with the raw-code: I don't know, how to post code correctly. I saw anotehr user here with a test-message and the reaction was 'Don't disturb us!!', 'Are you cracy to do this' and so on. So I didn't try too. But how to learn otherwise??? Thanks, Gerhard BTW: it alwys happens to me (now too), that a reply is posted as an answer to the last statement and not to the user, I clicked 'Reply'. Do you know, wht I'm doing wrong???

When typing in your message take a look below at the different options for decorating your message. You'll see bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, etc, along with pre and code.

pre is used to wrap a block of code and ignore html.

code is used to wrap a word in a sentence as syntax. Highlight the section of text you'd like to decorate and select the option below. Hope that helps some. Your best bet is to look around the page your on and pay attention to the details.

                              This statement was never false.
