Yes, that should work nicely, but I haven't seen that sold anywhere in years. The nanny state is protecting us again...

I've seen them, but unfortunately they don't work on these fancy push-to-close/push to open stopper assemblies. Replacing it with a conventional drain would entail removing the tub.:doh:

I believe you have seen something similar, as warning labels: "Do not mix Clorox with Ammonia" of course you have to get past the chlorine gas to get to the acid remaining....

Out of the box? Roger, the box was kicked, stomped on, shredded, blown up, I think there was even an access violation there.:rolleyes: :) Oh and if you want a quick way of cleaning it, angle grinder should do the trick right quick.

If you have a cat or dog put some cat food on it. The cat or dog will eat the lot, cough up a decorative fur ball that you can polyurethane and place as a nice garden feature!:laugh::-D ps: Even better, put some buttons on the fur ball and call it a Furby!

Oh I hate those things, I just unscrew them and toss 'em in a cupboard the second I'm stuck with one. Unscrew it, toss it in a cupboard and while you're at the hardware store picking up the gruck filter get a rubber stopper.
