Awesome tool. It's FREE and no need to install. SIW - System Information for Windows[^] SIW (System Information for Windows) performs computer configuration analysis and diagnostics. It gives detailed information about your computer properties and settings, detailed specs for: • Software: Operating System, Installed Software and Hotfixes, Processes, Services, Users, Open Files, System Uptime, Installed Codecs, Licenses. • Hardware: Motherboard, Sensors, BIOS, CPU, chipset, PCI/AGP, USB and ISA/PnP Devices, Memory, Video Card, Monitor, Disk Drives, CD/DVD Devices, SCSI Devices, S.M.A.R.T., Ports, Printers. • Network: Network Cards, Network Shares, currently active Network Connections, Open Ports. • Tools: Password Recovery, Reveal passwords hidden behind asterisks, Product Keys and Serial Numbers (CD Key), MAC Address Changer, Shutdown / Restart. • Real-time monitors: CPU, Memory, Page File usage and Network Traffic. SIW can create a report file (CSV, HTML, TXT or XML), and is able to run in batch mode (for PC Auditing and Inventory). SIW is a standalone utility that does not require installation - one less installed program on your PC as well the fact that you can run the program directly from a USB flash drive (Portable Freeware). Platform: Microsoft Windows 98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/Server 2003/Media Center/Tablet PC/Windows 2003 Server R2/Windows Server 2003 x64/Windows XP x64/Windows Vista/ WinRE / Bart PE / Winternals ERD Commander

I hate when that happens :( I hope that they at least put it up under the same license...i.e. they didn't try to claim exclusive copyright to something that was first listed under GPL... Roswell

Losers! I bet a good bit of it is stolen, and they are trying to sell some versions of it...definitely not a GPL license that's for sure. I can't believe they posted it back on CP though....

I have used one of your smaller projects almost as is, but at least I asked. I think it was you, it has been too long (I've slept more than once since). All behind the scenes anyhow, so no one knows, or cares other than me... but I still ask.

Why on earth would you post an article here and declare that the code can be used in a commercial application if you're going to get ticked off when someone actually does what you said they could do? Cheers, Drew.

Thanks - I just searched my old sent-items and found him :-( I've apologized to him in a new thread.

I wasn't ticked off for that - I just thought SIW had taken my app, did a binary change of the resource text and used it directly. I later found out (a few mins ago really) that SIW is run by Gabriel Topala who had mailed me and got explicit permission. Crap! Today's a bad day!

Ahh, big assumption. It would be just as easy, or easier to recompile the source with those changes.

I use SpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php[^]), and have MotherBoard Monitor, but it doesn't have my mobo listed as a choice.
