The Amiga OS, right ? What a stupid idea for a poll. Vista is the best, precisely because most people who voted, have not used it, and are still believing the advertisements are true.

What’s the criterion? Best for its time? Best of all time? Most innovative? I’d have to choose Unix given the influence its had.

 And exactly how long has vista been out? And, how many of those who vote have actually tried to use vista with their existing apps?

I've made an honest attempt at using vista but I've had just too many issues with some of my favorite apps and tools that I've decided it's not worth my time. Plus, I've been developing more and more server side *nix apps these days.

Same here. VM is simply an engineering marvel. It's the new old thing these days.

if you don't want it in marketing you make it behind closed doors, for internal use only. Otherwise you want it controlled and predictable.

The question should've been "What is the single most bloated OS of all time?" 1st = Vista 2nd runner up = XP right behind it = Mac OS X the last one being other Roswell

Well, every new OS in a family is going to be more bloated than the last, almost inevitably.
