Apple vs. Microsoft over the "trash can" icon -- was a copyright "look-and-feel" issue, not a patent one. I'm surprised at how few (of otherwise intelligent) people seem to know the the difference between a trademark, a copyright, and a patent. :sigh:
Well, I'm not intelligent person yet also i don't the basic difference between a trademark, a copyright, and a patent. :-D:-D So what's the different between a copyright, and a patent ? I always assume that they are same "animal". :-D:-D

Easy! Copyright is anything with the symbol ©. Trademark is anything with the symbol ™. Patent is... patent®! Just kidding... this link can help you: http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/pac/doc/general/whatis.htm[^]

:sigh: Almost ... ® means registered trademark.
I was kidding chimera... read the link that I have provided ;) I have placed the ® to state that the phrase "Patent is... patent" is supposed registered by me

I think the line of demarcation between the three said entities is rather thin.

Apparently so did others. M$ paid Fraunhofer US$1.6M to get a license for MP3. Apparently ownership is in question. I had a contract at Lucent in the past and wondered what Alcatel was thinking when they bought them because Lucent (and Alcatel by the way) seemed to be way behind Fuji when it came to optical switches -- Lucent's flagship product. This may be what they had in mind? :~

Why disparage worms? :-D Now that there is a scent of blood money in the water the lawyers are surely circling. :~
