Anybody know a (preferably free*) program that can cut parts of an MPEG/DAT file and save the clip as an MPEG [edit]or some other common format[/edit] file? VirtualDub doesn't save to MPEG. :( * I will only be using this once. -- modified at 9:09 Sunday 25th February, 2007

    Cheers, Vikram.

I believe windows movie maker can. Try an older version of VirtualDub, they may have removed mpeg because of copyright/patent infringement.

Thanks, mate. I'll try them both.

          Cheers, Vikram.

I downloaded it, but I'm simply unable to figure out how I should extract a clip - the UI is so clunky! :^) I simply want to clip the video between the 3rd minute and the 8th minute in an MPEG file. How should I do it with this software?

            Cheers, Vikram.

Never mind, I finally figured it out. Rather, I did everything I could, and it just came together. Thanks a lot! :rose:

              Cheers, Vikram.
