I've had a similar problem with Spanish people and debt collectors. I'm only in high school! I don't owe anything! how do they get their numbers?!?

File a complaint with the FCC. IF they're violating the DNC list they're liable for hefty fines,

Some Spanish person with bad credit had the same phone number before you did (probably lost when his phone was turned off for non payment).

It looks like the list is messed up again as this was intended to be a reply to dan neely posting a reply to himself that should be to the poster above.. My reply ended up one post below where I replied as well...

So a while ago I start getting calls from (559) 457-0453. I ignored the original call, but googled it and found that this company (Next Level Solutions - San Francisco, CA) is the source. They're calling on my cell number, which really pisses me off. After some more research, I found this: Click[^] Turns out there's a whole lot of people fed up with this company. I've tried leaving my number on their 'Do Not Call' list, but to no avail. Apparently they want me to buy a newspaper! (I live 2300 miles away). Any ideas on what I can do to make the calls stop? :mad:

Get a good metal whistle, they type soccer ref's use and blow as hard as you can when they call.

I give telemarketers nothing but "attitude." Civility and politeness does not require us to let ourselves be used or taken advantage of. Most people can't quite seem to grasp that point and telemarketing plays upon that. Here's how to deal with telemarketers: 1) Don't automatically say "Hello." Don't say *anything* until you have the phone to your ear and have analysed the sounds you are hearing. 2) Once you know what you're listening for, you can differentiate calls which were placed by actual human beings from those generated by dialing machines. 3) If the call was generated by a dialing machine, it is, by definition, a telemarketer. You can hang up. Or you can stay on the line ... and continue to say nothing ... just to see how long it takes the machine to break the connection. 4) If the call was placed by an actual human being, it may still be a telemarketer. If you don't recognize the voice, the odds are that it is a telemarketer. It may also be a wrong number, but more than likely, it's a telemarketer. 5) So, determine which it is ... and then have fun giving the telemarketers "attitude" or just hang up -- politeness does not require that you allow persons who are trying to use you to their own benefit to actually do so. It is *not* rude to just hang up on those who have no business interrupting you in the first place. Your time *is* your life. Telemarketers' interruptions are acts of theft, and what they are stealing is not *merely* a bit of time, they are literally stealing your life.
