I'm going to Busch Gardens this weekend! One more visit and my Season pass will have paid for itself. Anyone else with grandiose plans for the weekend? (Yeah, yeah, I know its only Tuesday but I am sitting through mandatory training so I am slightly bored)

It's my birthday on Sunday (36), so Saturday night will be spent getting drunk with all my friends, and Sunday doing whatever Mrs. C. has planned for me. :)

Gosh, at 36 you recover from getting drunk that quickly? :->

Yeh, because by 10PM Saturday evening I'll probably be legless and on the phone for a cab. he he. My tolerance for booze isn't what it was, but then I don't go out as much as I did, now I'm a responsible parent an' all. :)

I love Hawaii. My wife and I went to Scotland for our honeymoon, but we went to Hawaii for our first two anniversaries. We didn't go anywhere for our third (and most current), because we had a new baby instead. :) We did Maui and the Big Island and thoroughly enjoyed both. I'd be happy to answer questions related to either said island.

I never use travel agents. They rarely know what they're doing. I used Expedia for our Maui trip and did a few activities through them, but researched most of them separately. Don't do their lei greeting it's sad for the cost involved. I like the companies versus separate booking, because they have a vested interest in keeping you happy. Our trip last spring to the Big Island was booked through NWA WorldVacations. They had some travel difficulties because of mechanical issues to the plane and a delayed departure (the next day) because of snow out of Minneapolis. I talked to their customer service and they were able to move our hotel out a day (arrive a day late and leave a day late) and change the flight without any penalties including no requirement to pay that missed night at the hotel. It reflected well on them for future travel. I've been happy with Expedia and NWA WorldVacations.

I'd recommend getting a condo or house rather than staying in a hotel. And I'd recommend the north shore of Kauai for a honeymoon. Hanalei Bay area.

We go to Maui about once a year. Someone recommended a condo instead of a hotel, and I'll ditto that; it simply gives you more food options. We stay in West Maui, a little North of Ka'anapali (at the Papakea resort), but anywhere in the Lahaina to Kapalua area is nice. The other nice area on the island is South Maui, around Kihei. Never stayed there but we plan to try it one of these years if we can rip ourselves away from the Papakea. Ours is a timeshare so we book our travel separately. If this is your honeymoon, splurge on a convertible. It's the only way to get around the island; you'll love it! I'd be happy to answer any other questions.
