Worst Software Ever

1. Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition. (The fall of the empire) 2. Symentec Antivirus and other stuff (All versions, all flavors) 3. McAfee (Any) 4. GTalk, and all desktop applications by google (except for Google Earth) 5. RealOne player Crapware software (Which includes a bunch of real crap) 6. MSN Messenger (the present live messenger is somewhat okay..) 7. ALL the software stuff shipped with HP hardware. (They happily hog memory and some processess will hang around, even after you quit the software) 8. Apple's video player (I don't remember the name)

Vista and win 95 Xp can be a bit of a pain at times but it is by far better than vista. I especially hate UAC in vista

It can be turned off, although it isn't recommended.

Yeah. I am currently trying to access a third-party-whitelist in order to add some addresses. Opening the freaking whitelist (4 entries so far) took 15 minutes. Will someone please kill me?

Hands down, the worse piece of software I have had the displeasure of using is Lotus Notes. It has no redeeming qualities.
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:
Oh, wait, isn't this becoming a bit predictive?

Becuase they lack the very spirit. Google is the best when it comes to Internet search. That doesn't mean they should poke their nose into everything. *I have modified the post to exempt google earth from the blacklist*

I've never used Notes, but once when on temporary contract to another company I was forced to use Novell GroupWise. Coming back to Outlook and Exchange was a huge relief.

Why does this Lotus Notes stop your breath? I have never tried it (hope I won't ever have to try it after these many are scared of it). But just asking this out of my curiosity, take a shot, please tell me what is so bad in it.

Worst ever must be MS Millennium edition ... Just take the following into consideration: The following are new Error messages that are included in Windows Millennium Edition: 1.Smash forehead on keyboard to continue. 2.Enter any 11-digit prime number to continue. 3.Press any key to continue or any other key to quit. 4.Press any key except... no, No, NO, NOT THAT ONE! 5.Press Ctrl-Alt-Del now for IQ test. 6.Close your eyes and press escape three times. 7.Bad command or file name! Go stand in the corner. 8.This will end your Windows session. Do you want to play another game? 9.Windows message: "Error saving file! Format drive now? (Y/Y)" 10.This is a message from God Gates: "Rebooting the world. Please log off." 11.To "shut down" your system, type "WIN." 12.BREAKFAST.SYS halted... Cereal port not responding.

Not at work, but I've figured out how to combat the ever crashing Notes issue. Just go kill all the dumby processes that Notes spawns. X| We are as predictable as Notes is useless.

Personally, I'm happy with most of MS products I have ever used save one Microsoft Visio. Having said that, only other thing I can say about MS is given their vast resources, I think they should be able to do better.

I will save a full rant for another day. Here are just a few reasons I detest Notes.
- Randomly takes the focus (a process that takes a minute or two)
- The UI, UGGGG is just absolutely terrible (it’s easier to list what’s good rather than what is bad, and there isn’t anything good about the overall UI).
- SLOOOOOWW, on my machine after clicking the “New Memo” it’s a full five minutes before I start to actually compose an email.
- The Search function flat out doesn’t work.
- The entire app freezes every time I click on an email (doesn’t matter if the preview pane is open or not). Sad but funny enough it does this even if I’m clicking on an email that is already selected.
- Want to copy and paste a subject line, good luck it doesn’t work.
- It likes to crash when logging into it, because it spawns a bunch of dumby process it requries you to log off windows before you can log in to it.
