Hey all, My name is Chris, I am going into my second year of Software Engineering at St.Lawrence College in Ontario, Canada... I have been using the Code Project as a resource for a while now, and I figured that I've been ghosting around for long enough (so I signed up) Programming wise, I have a handle on most DHTML, a small grounding in C, and quite a good knowledge of VB.NET 2003. I am here looking to both improve my skills, and to learn more about the theory and logic of programming. I am also keen to get into graphics (DirectX, OpenGL, XNA) as I am an avid gamer and would love to be able to make my own 3D games. It's good to be aboard, and nice to meet you all. Thanks for the read... Chris

Do non Canadians know what a 24 is? :) Non Ontarians probably don't know what the may "TwoFour" weekend is all about either. :) Congrats on leaving ghosthood and achieving near corporeal status!

A new guy comes on board, is nice, says "hi" and your Kyleometer goes off? That's sad.

Welcome aboard. Your intro sounded very much like you were in a 12 step program: "Hi, my name is Chris [Hi Chris!] and I haven't touched VBScript in 3 months [woo! way to go!]" Don't mind the natives. Staring at (and sometimes talking at) the screen all day, every day makes us all a little...odd. I've got a question though: Is CodeProject used at your Uni much? If so, how? Amything specific, anything specific that would be helpful to those at University?

          cheers, Chris Maunder

Talking of pizza. I noticed my local Pizza Hut was advertising a Ying-Yang pizza. It seems that somepeople are like me and prefer a thin crust pizza, others prefer a deep pan pizza and until now it would appear that Pizza Hut has been neglecting those poor indecisive souls who just want the best of both worlds. Now they won't even have to make up their mind - they can get both in one pizza. I'm wondering how many customers they previously lost due to indecisiveness. And how many are going to have reduced sales because they now don't have to buy two pizzas.

I use CodeProject just as a resource at school really... If I'm puzzled about something, I'll search for it here first, and usually it turns up. I also love it for just general reading when I'm interested; the articles are all well written, and generally cover interesting material. It's a great site overall.
