VMware Server question
-
I've looked through the documentation but couldn't find any useful information. Do the VMs run even if on the host there are no logged users? I mean, Server = no logged users but only services, usually, so I wonder if WMware Server works as a pure service or requires an active interactive session instead*. Thanks for any hint. *) I need to run an application that requires an interactive session open to work**, so my idea is to use VMware Server to make the app "think" there is an actual user logged on. **) It has to BitBlt the screen.

Can run interactive or not. Depends how its activated. You normally set this up when configuring the session. Also if run on Server version of windows you have a web interface to start and stop vmware virtual hosts

You can enable VMWare to automatically start guest operating systems when windows starts. So I guess it doesn't need an interactive session to run a virtual machine. To let the app think a user is logged in you need to configure automatic logon too on the guest operating system.
