try watching The Other Side Of The Mountain.[^]. I believe the longest someone has watched this movie without projectile vomiting was 9 minutes and 37 seconds. :) Oddly a sequel[^] was made, too.

Hillarious, I followed your link for other side of the mountain to jog my memory and at the bottom there's a section "If you enjoyed this title, our database also recommends" and one of them is "Goodfellas". There's either something horribly wrong with their algorithm or it's a joke.

Are those rhetorical questions? :~ The answer to all those questions are given in the movie...

Well, it's easy to dislike a depressing movie. It's like a reverse commercial - you start associating bad feelings with the movie and - BAM - you have a crap movie on your hands (or in your DVD player).

Last night I rented the Babel movie. Boy, that movie sucked big time. X| Apart from good actors the whole movie was depressing. Few attempts were made to look like CRASH movie but failed miserably. Don't waste your money. :sigh:

If you'd seen this director's previous movies (Amores Perros & 21 grams) you would have guessed it wouldn't be a happy clappy movie :-D. I plan to watch it this asap, since I liked his earlier movies. But you have to be in the right mood, I've found.

I liked the CRASH movie in that way. I couldn't understand the connection between Mexico - Morocco - HongKong/Japan. It's like watching TV documentary about how the marriages are performed in Mexico or how the teenage girls behave in Hong Kong (or Japan) or how the poor families survive in Morocco.

The movie's about how people communicate and connect with each other, or not, because of or despite of language/cultural differences. Hence the title :-) We got see to vastly different societies (Morocco, US, Mexico, Japan and the deaf/mute community) and how people from each group interacted with each other, both inside and outside their group. The Japanese deaf/mute girl had enormous difficulty connecting with people outside her group. Her dad was struggling to connect with her yet he managed to connect with a Moroccan guide who he probably shared about 3 words with :-) Brad Pitt and his wife were trying to get a dialog going to save their marriage and were eventually abandoned by the people from their Western society but were taken in by the Moroccan villagers. The scenes with the old woman tending to Cate Blanchett were pretty powerful, even though they couldn't communicate a single word to each other. In the end, I thought the movie tried a bit too hard and took itself a bit too seriously but it's still worth watching. Certainly better than 99% of the other crap we get offered these days :|

I really enjoyed the movie, it was very well sewn together and incredibly well directed.

Speaking of truly bad movies rented recently. On the plus side Stranger than Fiction was pretty good so the morale of the story is Will Ferrell should stay away from writing movies and stick to acting in them.

Baby Jesus! Oh save me Baby Jesus! I can see the stupidity of Talladega Nights, I can see myself seeing the stupidity of it as I watch it, but I still laughed. It is very much down to the honesty of Will Ferrel. He doesn't take himself seriously and doesn't expect us to.

If you saw it, you know why it has to be the worst movie in modern times. If you haven't seen it go ahead and watch it. It is entertaining just for its grade D plot and horribly bad acting (by, ironically, some of the industries best actors!).
