I tend to like Asus mobo's and the P5B is very nice. I built a mATX PC with an Asus motherboard recently and can't see me having a Tower Case ever again. You can see some pics here: http://blog.surfulater.com/2006/12/29/building-a-new-pc-for-xmas-because-i-want-a-nas-part-1/[^]

I would prefer Gigabyte. But you better check the features, for instance USB or LAN-Connectors or ventilators. I have now an Asus-Mobo (A8V Deluxe) because it has no ventilators, but I cant use floppy disks, because the connector cable wont fit in my small PC. To connect the cables (USB, LEDs etc) was a hell, I damn' Asus for to such shit. X| Dont decide for a few bugs!!! tip: google for tests

Your choice should be dictated by the features and the layout. I like P180 cases, so if I were to chose, I'd chose P5B which has slightly better layout (IDE port is higher and rotated 90 degrees), if you have different case, you may prefer Gigabyte. However, connecting south and north bridge by a heatpipe on Gigabyte is downright moronic because north bridge runs much hotter than south and thus will be heating it up.

Its a great case which I can highly recomend. I've put in 2 x 320G Drives running RAID1, a DVD Burner, Floppy Disk Drive, and used just one of the four PCI-E slots. There is still room for another 5 1/4 drive. I might out a removable caddy in here with another 320G drive.

I want to upgrade but got a champagne appetite and beer budget. The shape reminds me of the Next computer that one of the founders of Apple broke off and tried solo..been some years back. Thanks Mike
