We now hold both NCAA Football and Basketball national titles. To get them we crushed Ohio State....both times. I almost feel as happy as when the Marlins beat the Yankees, for the World Series -- modified at 13:56 Tuesday 3rd April, 2007

Correction: Florida Marlins beat the NY Yankees in the 2003 World Series. But those two met only ONE time, not twice as you say. The first time the Marlins won, they beat the Cleveland Indians in 1997.

Ahem, shall we compare total number of Series victories? 26 > 2? :-D

thats true but the Marlins have only been around since what....93? and why don't you compare Sal Caps while your at it. Yankee's buy all their players, wheres the home grown talent? I know the Marlins had Ivan R. but still, This only proves that Florida kicks ass and everyone needs to start given us some credit. and we're all forgetting my original topic. We hold the two most important title in college sports. not New York, or anyone else.

Given the roster money of Marlins team, I would say 2 is greater than 26. :)

Homegrown Talent: Derek Jeter Mariano Rivera Bernie Williams Robinson Cano Joe Dimaggio Mickey Mantle list goes on... But still, the homegrown talent vs. free agent argument is a red herring. Baseball is a business, and the goal is to win championships. I don't hear ball clubs complaining when the Yankees come to town and sell out the stadium for every game. Fact is, the Yankees are good for business.

YOU didn't kick anyone's ass. You obviously cannot discuss this objectively.

What a game! For all you Cricket fans, here's a synopsis: Florida is deeper and bigger than Ohio State but OSU did a great job of staying out of foul trouble. The officials helped OSU by calling it very tight on the front court play and Oden responded with great post play resulting in many points in the paint, rebounds and many blocked shots. However the depth of Florida and particularly it's depth of offense ( 33 halftime points from 7 players! ), post play and shots from down-town were just too much. By the end of the game OSU players ran out of steam and the fresh legs of Florida made it easy for them to put it away.

Sad... and even for Florida fans, I'm sure they would have liked to see a more exciting game. The loss wouldn't be as painful if we actually put up a good fight. Oh well, just wait until next year ;P
