I am running VS 2003 in vista - the only problem that I am having is that when I do a 'find all' the IDE basically locks up. Any Ideas?

Weird combo. Why not just move to VS 2005?

we have some 3rd party stuff that doesn't compile under vs2005 so I would have to find some money to upgrade the components and then re-do the customization we did on the components in the new version...issues like that make it more attractive to stay with vs2003 since the product is not expected to live very much longer

I think moving to VS2005 may be your only option. Unless you have an XP disc and a spare partition/hard disk. If you move to VS2005, download SP1 for Vista: Download details page Also, you should contact the company that provides your 3rd party stuff, see if there are free or reduced cost options for upgrading. Another option, though it's a bit fiddly, is to install both versions, and use VS2005 when the 3rd party software isn't needed.
