I dind't realize our "alert color" had ever changed from YELLOW. Maybe it has. Like it or not, I'm right.

:) The problem with that is that we wouldn't know how severe our status is. I mean, is it Blue(an airplane assault) or Indigo(a nuclear submarine)? :-D (j/k) David Stone dstone@newcenturytitle.com

It's a good way to get the focus off what Bush knew and when he knew it. Put out a bunch of phony terrorist warnings and FoxNews will jump all over it as though it were a real news story.

The EBS must have been phased out cause you never hear those tests anymore. I guess it was a remnant from the 50s "Duck and Cover" era. Like it or not, I'm right.

The FBI and Office of Homeland Security release new warnings and change our "alert color" so frequently that I have started losing faith. Besides, none of these alerts have been for San Diego, so I'm ok. I hope that's not too un-American of me. David Stone dstone@newcenturytitle.com

Nope. You got enough to worry about with the San Andrea fault ( and all the other little tectonic goodies) running in your neighboorhood. Another threat warning by the FBI for NYC. Landmarks might be targeted. Reminded me of a bit of out a Dr. Suess book. "That's a noise," grinned the Grinch, "That I simply MUST hear!" So he paused. And the Grinch put his hand to his ear. And he did hear a sound rising over the snow. It started in low. Then it started to grow... But the sound wasn't sad! Why, this sound sounded merry! It couldn't be so! But it WAS merry! VERY! He stared down at Who-ville! The Grinch popped his eyes! Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise! Every Who down in Who-ville, the tall and the small, Was singing! Without any presents at all! He HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME! Somehow or other, it came just the same! And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow, Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?" "It came with out ribbons! It came without tags!" "It came without packages, boxes or bags!" And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store." "Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!" I have to agree. Of all the security alerts, not one of them, resulted in an interception of an attack and no attacks happened. Makes you question the credibility of these security alerts. Still, better to be safe than sorry.

The plane that struck the Pentagon flew out of Dulles, my neighborhood airport. One of the passengers lived near me. Since I live close to Washington, DC, I appreciate warnings. However, nothing excuses fomenting fear in order to cover up ineptitude by the Bush administration. Ed
