Introvert or Extrovert???
-
I'm definitely an introvert in groups larger than 2 people. But I try very hard to not be that way and generally do a good job. It's kind of a must being self-employed. I do have to be able to mix well with people. Would you say in life (not work) are you more of an introvert or an extrovert? Are you social in large groups or do you tend to hover on the edge and watch more? Have no idea at all why I am asking this other than tonight we had to attend a semi-social gathering with total strangers and as we drove home I was wondering how I would be perceived by others in this regard. So out with it, which do you think you are? Don't hedge either I'm not saying situationally I'm saying absolutely. Pick one!:-D Also, does your activity here in the lounge accurately reflect how you would act in person? For me. Yes it does. I avoid the soapbox at all costs and I'm really comfortable hanging in the lounge.
In a group of strangers, I tend to be introverted until I learn the relationships. The one exception is when I'm running or biking. Much to the occasional embarassment of my running partners, I'll say anything to anybody (mostly bad jokes or puns). Must be the endorphins :-O. I think I might be a little more extroverted here in the Lounge than I would be in person, at least at first. Like you, I feel comfortable here; I like the people. Frankly, the Soapbox is boring. As a matter of personal policy, I never discuss my politics and rarely discuss religion. This leaves the Soapbox an empty slate.

Hi, I used to be extrovert in large groups (I worked ten years or so behind a bar were I had to give attention to everyone so they would feel confortable at that place). Perhaps it was that role or perhaps I changed whithout knowing but at this moment I don't like situations with a lot of people and if I can avoid going to a party I choose that option. I think it also has to do with the fact that I don't like smalltalk about politics, socker etc, I heard that enough and saw the same people over and over again ,talking about those topics every time they came in. So I would say I am introvert and I think that reflects how I am here in the Lounge also. For me it's part of my livestyle, I like silence , reading etc and I don't have to go out to feel good. It's not that I don't have friends or I don't go to bars or restaurants but just that I don't have to be the center of the event like those idiots in restaurants who shout and behave badly just to get attention from other people.
With friendly greetings,:) Eric Goedhart Interbritt

Introvert. I've no idea what my activity here reflects. Although, i'm reminded of a saying that starts out, "idle hands..."

Much more extrovert online, I don't find it easy to generate inane small talk in social situations in RL.

I'd have to say per-vert :-O Oh, that's not a third option I see . Well jokes aside, I'm quite introvert in crowds - especially people I don't know. But once I get to know people and their sense of humour, I can be a bit extrovert - i.e. crack jokes, lead the conversation for a little while. When I'm a bit nervous I can't think quick enough on my feet, and prefer to keep quiet rather than risk saying something stupid :-D But I'm trying to break that habit.
