I'm with Mike. I work in complete quiet. Also, I can't think in a noisy or cluttered/untidy environment. Because I don't take a break for meals, I eat/drink at my desk. I'm looking forward to the long weekend - I plan to hack for 3 days straight! Sheer bliss! /ravi "There is always one more bug..." http://www.ravib.com ravib@ravib.com

Complete and utter solitude. No music, no television, no talking. Mike Mullikin "Thank you America, every night I see increasingly stupid things happening here in Australia. Then you come along and top it." - Michael Martin - The Lounge :bob:

          1. Silence while writing something from scratch. 2. Talk radio (Rush Limbaugh) when Debugging.

I am dying without my tunes. I've been onsite on this contract for a year now. I tried installing the sound card drivers, but they crash the machine (dual-PIII NT) every time I try to play music AND do something else... I had a happy 2 hours of music or so... can't wait to get on to the next project. :) J I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

My wife is leaving Saturday to visit her family for a week, and she's taking our baby with her. Of course I will miss them greatly, but I sure as hell am looking forward to the first no-distractions week-long hack-fest in a very long time. J I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

I get a lot more work done this way. I have come into the office on some saturdays (with absolutly no one around) and got more work done in 6 hours than I did all week.. John

Quiet. I can't focus when music or TV is playing.
